Through a jointed initiative called: Facilitating Trade for Agricultural Goods in ASEAN (FTAG), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) have developed the information materials on Formalities of Phytosanitary Certificate Provision for Export, Re-export, Import and Transit of Goods Subject for phytosanitary inspectors and organized a workshop on the same topic on 17 May 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to bring together relevant stakeholders to share and spread out information about phytosanitary procedures, processes and information materials on phytosanitary formalities on trade.
The topics discussed during the one-day meeting are the status of phytosanitary rules and implementation in Cambodia, the application form for phytosanitary certificate and other related issues.
The formalities are the procedures for traders to comply with to smooth the movement of agricultural goods and prevent transmission of pests from one area to another in the country.
