The ASEAN Guidelines on Soil and Nutrient Management officially approved and available for download

ASEAN Guidelines on Soil and Nutrient Management (SNM) has been approved at the 39th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (39th AMAF) in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 28 September 2017.

The Guidelines on SNM is the first of its kind through concerted efforts of the ASEAN Member States on soil and nutrient management. Designed as a guiding tool to address issues and challenges in ASEAN’s soil and nutrient management, it contains policy recommendations and sustainable practices gathered from the experiences of the ASEAN Member States to maintain and improve soil productivity for optimal crop production.

The publication also provides practices to enable practitioners to guide and assist smallholder farmers to cope with threats posted by climate change in increasing their adaptability and resilience.

The Guidelines was developed with the supported of the ASEAN-German Cooperation Project ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems (ASEAN SAS).
