ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems (ASEAN SAS) Viet Nam Planning Activity Workshop was recently held on 14 May 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City. The workshop was hosted by the GIZ ASEAN SAS in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
The objectives of the workshop were to set up a plan of activities for ASEAN SAS Project during the period of June 2015 – December 2016 in Viet Nam. The plan will be used by the project team and its partners for the implementation in Viet Nam and to facilitate implementation at the beginning stage for generating as well as enhancing communication among partners.
Thirty-three participants of the workshop came from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta Provinces. They formed three working groups discussing on: Policy Framework, Market linkages and Production Technologies, respectively. Milestones and activities for each project component were identified from the workshop.
Following the outcomes of the workshop, ASEAN SAS Project in Viet Nam will develop a feasible plan of activities for the period of June 2015 – December 2016 which leverages inputs from the workshop participants.
