“I will hand down my skills to my children,” says Mr. Ung Van Tu, Farmer in Dong Thap Province, Viet Nam

Mr. Ung Van Tu’s family has been rice farmers for 25 years. He learns rice cultivation skills from his grandfather, and he recalls a planthopper outbreak that leaves his family with not even a single grain.

Mr. Van Tu is one of the farmers attending an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training programme, cooperation between public and private partners between Croplife International and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Viet Nam under the project of Better Rice Initiative Asia (BRIA), a sister project of ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems.

This video is second in its four under ‘Promotion of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Rice in the provinces Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Viet Nam’ project. The objective of video series aimed to promote IPM training and sustainable rice cultivation in Viet Nam to public.
