Writer: Rojana Manowalailao, ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems

What does it take for the present generation to secure food for the future ASEAN?

Imagining a 100 year from now when food is shortage, and no longer safe, affordable, and accessible for everyone. Watch interview excerpts of multi-stakeholder players in the food value chain what they see as the challenges to possibly put the end of agrifood production in ASEAN and the world.

This five-minute video was shown at an official opening ceremony of the 39th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (39th AMAF) in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 28 September 2017.

Hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the 39th AMAF welcomed over 300 high level decision makers from all 10 ASEAN Member States to discuss regional cooperation to increase the international competitiveness of ASEAN’s food, agriculture and forestry products. It also aimed to strengthen the food security in the region and joint positions in international fora.
