Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and GIZ Thailand are organizing the “60 Years: Thai-German Partnership for Sustainable Development” event. This will be held on 18 January 2017 at 08.45 a.m.-12.30 p.m. at Vithes Samosorn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This event is aimed at disseminating the implementation of Thai-German development cooperation during the past 60 years in various fields such as agriculture, health, energy, environment, climate change and technology. Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Peter Prügel, German Ambassador to Thailand will preside over the event.
There will be a panel discussion on the “Stories from the Past for the Future towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” to exchange their past, present experiences and direction of development cooperation in the future, using the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) approach to develop the country to reach SDGs. Dr. Matthias Bickel, a project director of ASEAN Sustainable Agrifood Systems will share his experiences on griculture in Thailand and ASEAN at the panel discussion.
Apart from this event, there will be an exhibition displaying the implementation results for Thai-German cooperation for sustainable development of more than 300 projects, including several booths from Rain Tree Foundation, Goethe-Institut Thailand, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Rice Department, CBM (Christoffel-Blindenmission), the Office of the Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (Thailand) and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
